Check out the unusual places some of our NCS children did the Food For Thought challenge.
In 2011 we raised $2926.30 NZ and Dr Potaka made good his promise of adding an extra $100 to our collection. This money paid for 2.5 teachers to work at the CCH school for a year. Below you can read the responses from one of these teachers and one of the pupil's she teaches.
Feeling of grade 3 teacher
My name is Hem Chenda. My feeling
that teaching at CCHIS is: I am very appreciated that I can come to teach
children in this school. All the children in this school have good morality,
good communicated with their friends and they respect each other. The thing
that makes me can't forget is the smile of my students. I feel very happy to work here and this is
my first time that I come to teach the children that live in the center. It
makes me understand a lot about the life of the poor children. All the children
that study at CCHIS always give me a warm welcome. Especially when I ask about
their history, it makes me very pity to them and makes me want to take care all
of them. I thank so much to Nelson Central School for helping funds for all
teachers. May your kindness bring you all Happiness.
Feeling of grade 3 student
My name is Ben SengLeang. I am boy. My feeling that study at CCHIS is: I feel very happy that I can come to study in this school. The entire teacher in this school is very friendly and very kind to me. When my teacher explains the lesson to me she always explains it very carefully and very clear. Especially for the students that study with me. They all respect each other and when I don’t understand any lesson they always explain to me and teach me. We all love each other and look after each other. All students thank so much to Nelson Central School students and staffs who donate funds to all teachers. All students wish you all very happy and prosperity in your life.
